Regeneration for old coal yard

Primoris Homes completed its latest housing scheme in Gobowen this month. Caldwell Gardens is a development of 22 homes built on the former coal yard site adjacent to Gobowen Railway Station.

The scheme, which consists of eight apartments, six bungalows and eight houses, was developed in association with Wrekin Housing Trust and provides much-needed affordable housing for the local community. The apartment building was designed and constructed to complement the existing listed station building.

Work began on site in January 2015 and was completed within 12 months, with the homes officially handed over to the Trust on 21 January 2016.

“From concept to completion the whole process of developing and constructing the homes at Caldwell Gardens, with Wrekin Housing Trust, has been an absolute pleasure,” said David Howell, Managing Director of Primoris Homes.

“We have managed to build the homes on time and on budget and hopefully, as can be seen from the photos, they provide a lovely environment in which to live.”

The Wrekin Housing Trust is one of the largest social housing providers/housing associations in the West Midlands with almost 12,000 homes across Shropshire and Staffordshire. This is the first project that Primoris Homes has completed for the Trust, with plans for further developments in Oswestry in 2016.

“I would like to say a big thank you to everyone working on this scheme, it has been very successful, and we hope our residents will enjoy their new homes for many years to come,” said Sarah Bradshaw, Project Manager at The Wrekin Housing Trust.
“It has been great working with Primoris Homes. They have been professional and proactive throughout the build. The scheme was completed within budget and on time and we very much look forward to working with them again during 2016.”
